Guevara Leacock

Guevara Leacock is an accredited mediator and Senior Lecturer in Private Law at Kent Law School. He combines legal knowledge with practical experience of resolving disputes, helping parties understand the issues, explore their options and work towards an agreement. His approach is calm, supportive and facilitative, giving each person space to be heard while keeping discussions focused on a constructive way forward.

His expertise in private law, trusts, estate planning and commercial law enables him to understand disputes involving complex legal, financial and personal interests. Experience advising on fraud, corruption and bribery matters has also developed his ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism. In 2018, he advised a limited liability company through a complex shareholder dispute, helping to achieve an out-of-court settlement that preserved business relationships.

During more than four years as Student Experience Lead at Kent Law School, Guevara regularly helped resolve disagreements involving students, lecturers and the wider university. This work required careful listening, an understanding of different perspectives and an ability to manage difficult conversations where differences in authority or confidence could affect how people participated.

As a law teacher, Guevara is experienced in explaining complex concepts clearly and making discussions accessible. In mediation, he brings that same clarity and patience to helping parties identify what matters to them and consider workable solutions. He remains impartial throughout, supporting informed decisions while leaving the outcome in the parties’ hands.
